Is Your Closet Ready For Spring?

NYFW's Spring 2014 collections from major designers focused on bright colors paired with pastel neutrals and bold prints and textures. As we transition from the brutal NYC winter into the effervescent Spring, it leads me to wonder if everyone's closet is as Spring ready as it should be. Not quite sure if yours is or isn't? Here are a few Spring essentials that are sure to prepare even the most unprepared fashionista (although fashionistas are rarely ever unprepared...helluuurrrr)

Bright Colors
This beautiful orange neoprene strapless dress with a flared skirt is the embodiment of Spring. Neoprene is usually a material used for dresses with a lot of structure so the flare in the skirt shows off how the material can also hold volume. Pair this with matching orange peep toe heels or a bold kiwi green or  banana yellow pump.
DKNY Strapless Dress with Flared Skirt: $395

Soft Neutrals

For a fearless ensemble with work-to-play versatility, look no further than this daring colorblocked skirt. High-rise waist. Allover colorblocking. A-line. Pair with a nude or black shoe. simple chic.
Herve Leger by Max Azria Novak Colorblocked skirt: $1,490

 Bold Prints
DVF's Spring 2014 collection featured this masterful mix of prints on a flared tank silhouette that has safari chic written all over it. Pair it with a bright bag and black shoes to draw attention to the dress. To add a little more flare to the outfit try to go bright with the shoes...a nice royal blue pump or orange and tan wedges. Werk!
'Ilsa' Print Knit Tank Dress: $395

Texture
There was an audible gasp when Naomi Campbell strutted down our Spring runway in this very same mini dress. The Neapoli, in all-over metallic crochet with a flattering scoop back, is all about impact, from entrance to exit. To make the most of this runway-approved stunner, add sky high heels and a versatile white envelope clutch—and get ready to channel Naomi’s supermodel confidence.
Diane Von F Neapoli Metallic Crochet Dress: $745

What Will (or Won't) Rihanna Wear?

Today the fashion icon decided that a shirt wouldn't be necessary for her trip out to Giorgio Baldi restaurant. Instead she opted for a Isabel Marant jacket, Givenchy ruffled skirt, Manolo Blahnik Margolotta boots and of course bundles upon bundles of hair draped along her bust area. I guess this is one of the many reasons why the pop star received the CFDA Fashion Icon Award. Go 'head RiRi.

Wardrobe..
Isabel Marant quilted zip jacket $563
Givenchy stone-wash ruffled denim skirt $1,450
Manolo Blahnik Margolotta ankle boot $765

Accessories..
Campise Gun Necklace $850
Jennifer Fisher burnished white diamond 'Momma' cuff $5,300
Eddie Borgo Spire Line bracelet in White Gold $360

In case classic raincoat just isn't your thing my alternative would definitely be this beautiful trench by Day Birger Et Mikkelsen. The brushed-twill material adds a softness to the coats exterior whir the polyester and rayon lining are sure to keep you warm and dry.

I thought I'd get a little "raunchy" for my last find. This hat is perfect for the rain because who really wants to spend hours perfecting that hairstyle for it only to get ruined by mother nature. So this hat is for those "IDC" moments. Dress it up or dress it down and no one should ask you why you're wearing this hat because it clearly speaks for itself. (P.S. I follow this clothing line on Instagram and this young lady has a lot of cool items!!)
Bad F@#K'N Hair Day Snapback $48

And that my fellow fashionistas are my top 5 finds for a rainy day. With all these fabulous items, I wouldn't mind if the rain stuck around...lies.
